Forever and a Day...

I'm pretty sure it's been that long since we last updated this blog. Friends of mine are updating theirs, which reminded me how precious it is to get to watch your friend's children grow up even when they're miles and miles away! So, for the one or two of you who still check this blog, here's a quick update!

A family pic. I included this because a group shot is so very rare.
The night before our big boy turned four.
The boys have spent a lot of time wrestling and/or riding on Daddy, who doesn't have much time for the gym these days, but I'm pretty sure this kind of activity counts for something!
Pre-Christmas in Atlanta with the cousins, who have SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER!
The boys flew us home. Really, I still can't believe the pilot let them do this. Not sure what he was thinking...
In the midst of so much studying, we make sure Daddy gets his daily dose of vitamin D. Here the boys are soaking up some sun at the Arboretum (people in picture are not as pale as they appear, it had just been a while since I've used my camera and I seemed to have forgotten how to use the aperture feature)!
Love this pic of my babies resting in the grass.
Rest was necessary, because they had just done this (see below) for about 30 minutes straight!
Our biggest and most exciting news is that the Lord has blessed us with another baby BOY!!! We expect him to arrive around August 21st and we couldn't be more thrilled about this newest addition to our family! I fell in love when I saw the sonogram, so I can't imagine what it will be like to actually have him in my arms!

Soccer!

Well, my big boy has started playing on his first team - Mommy's choice - soccer! After a rough start (i.e. spending more time on the playground during the game than on the field), he's gotten the hang of it and LOVES it now!

"Soccer," of course, is a relative term at this age (notice no ball in the picture here)...
 Contemplating the strategy...
Contemplating which snack to eat...how about both?

This time of year in Philly means...pumpkin patches and hayrides...

...John Deere tractors (Connor's new obsession)...

...birthday party for my littlest man!...
 ...eating cake...
 ...celebrating with sweet friends...
 ...impromptu neighborhood concerts...

...love it!

Labor Day

My little joys!
They look like they were sweetly sharing "Big Doggy" in this picture. They were not.
We took a trip to Austin this past weekend to spend some time with Carlton's family. The boys loved the boat and swimming in the lake...

...but the best part by far was all of the uninterrupted time with Daddy!

Carlton and his dad share a birthday, and it's always so special when they get celebrate it together!

Summer 2011

Here are some pics from our summer so far...Despite a broken arm, four knocked out teeth, an earthquake and a hurricane (with tornado warnings), we've had a wonderful summer!

A trip to the beach with my family. So relaxing, and such precious time with a family I adore!
Robert and Jack had a blast together...again!
Little C looks so sweet and peaceful...but he's about to eat a rock. Fortunately we got it out of his mouth just in time - disaster averted!
Sparklers!
Connor and cute Katie bonded. They turned heads on the beach in their pink and blue outfits.

Our best family shot...awesome. Hopefully we'll manage a better one by the time Christmas cards are sent out!
Aunt Donna loving on the three biggest babies.
Our first fruit! The boys and I started a garden this summer. We've had to be patient because things up here take a little (a lot) longer to bloom than down south. Okay, so we weren't exactly patient. We picked it while it was still fully green, so we had to be patient again and wait a week and a half for it to turn red.
A couple of weeks ago we discovered one of the most beautiful locations we've been to since we moved. A local farm with fields full of zinnias - one of my favorite flowers!

Oh My Oh June!

The title of my last post was "My Oh May." May was extremely busy and I think I'm still recovering from it, but June - what happened to June??? It came and went and we must have been so preoccupied that we didn't realize the days were passing. Here's a quick recap...

We went to Atlanta to spend a week with my family. "BooPa," pictured here, was their favorite toy, as usual.
We took a trip to the zoo specifically to see the monkeys. BooPa loves to do monkey impressions and the boys think it's just about the funniest thing they've ever seen!

This little guy was so tuckered the day after we got home that he fell asleep on the couch - for the first time ever.
Fast forward to the 4th of July! This was one of our best 4th celebrations to date. We had low-country boil, tomato/mozzarella/basil salad, cheese bread and key lime pie - delicious (thank you, Callie!!). Here are the fab three.

And for those of you who haven't heard, Connor broke his arm. It was just one fall of thousands, but this time he fell "the right way," as one friend described it. Not too bad though and he's handled it like a champ. Praying that he'll get the cast off before we head to the beach in a few weeks!
